Jonathan Taylor, Wisconsin RB
The bar has been set very high after a sensational freshman debut from Badger RB Jonathan Taylor after 1,977 rushing yards and 13 TD’s and a solid 6th place finish in Heisman voting in 2017. However, the likelihood of Taylor duplicating, if not exceeding these numbers is also very high. Wisconsin returns their entire offensive line (arguably the best unit in the country) from a year ago and all but one remaining starter on offense.
In 2014, Wisconsin RB Melvin Gordon tallied 2,587 rushing yards and 32 total TD’s for a Badger team that finished 11-3. This sensational year awarded Gordon 2nd in Heisman voting. Will Taylor have to exceed the bar left previously by Gordon in order to bring home Heisman hardware to Madison, Wisconsin?
